  • The apology was private, and Sally believes it should be public, saying "are y’all not wanting to apologize because you don’t really want to admit that it was wrong?"
  • Natalie and Nick received backlash after interviewing Austen on The Viall Files and asking insensitive questions about the tragic passing of his sister.

If you've been patiently waiting for Nick Viall and Natalie Joy to apologize to Southern Charm star Austen Kroll, they did...in private.

The couple have been facing mounting pressure to apologize after asking Austen insensitive questions about the tragic death of his sister on their podcast, which made him visibly uncomfortable.

While they have yet to make a public statement, Southern Charm's Salley Carson revealed that Nick and Natalie Joy reached out Austen.

"They both called him and apologized," Sally told SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, adding "I do think there should be a public apology for sure. I think that it needed to be a lot bigger. I’m kind of like, are y’all not wanting to apologize because you don’t really want to admit that it was wrong?"

"It honestly kind of broke my heart for him," she added. "I called him to see if he was OK because I’m like, 'I am so sorry that must have been so hard.' I could tell he was uncomfortable because his leg was shaking. I’ve been friends with him for a while and I haven’t asked [about Kyle]. That’s something that I feel like he should bring up when he feels comfortable."
